Introduction to Beekeeping
We offer two, lecture styled and indoor classes to welcome you to the world of beekeeping: Beekeeping 101 and 201. These classes are designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of honeybees and beekeeping. The first course, Beekeeping 101, provides an introduction to the biology of honeybees and the foundational equipment used by beekeepers. Beekeeping 201 builds on this knowledge by teaching you how to perform a hive inspection, identify a healthy colony, and track your data using hive logs. These classes can be taken together or separately on the same day.

Hive Health and Apiary Management
Throughout the peak beekeeping season, we offer field beekeeping classes held at our local apiaries. These classes are perfect for anyone who wants to gain hands-on experience with live hives. Each class is tailored to the current season, focusing on the specific maintenance and management tasks that are necessary for the bees at that time of year. You'll learn what to look for and what to do inside a hive to ensure your bees are healthy and thriving. These classes are a great next step for beekeepers of any experience level.
Important note: Participants are required to have their own bee suit.
