Join us at the Maple Valley Library to learn about the fascinating world of honeybees and the art of beekeeping in this short introductory class! We will be hosting an addended version of our Beekeeping 101, and including a very special honey-tasting experience. Whether you’re a gardener, a nature enthusiast, or just interested in what happens behind the scenes of a hive, this class offers a window into their intricate, buzzing society. We’ll explore the remarkable biology of the individual honeybee and take an insider’s look at the tools of the trade, including frames, hive boxes, and the smoker. Our goal is to provide you with a foundational appreciation for a hive's inner workings and show you how your own awareness can directly support bee health and local ecosystems.
Session will be led by Dr. Danny Najera of Green River College.
